Conversational Evangelism - Dr David Geisler

conversational-evangelism.jpgWitnessing used to involve laying out the truth and guiding a person to understand and accept it. But the awareness of basic Christian principles has changed and so have the needs of pre–believers. With a passion for people, authors David and Norman Geisler share an engaging, conversational approach to evangelism as they address:

  • What makes old models of witnessing ineffective in today’s culture
  • Why evangelism must start with relational pre–evangelism
  • How to ask questions, listen attentively, and understand what someone believes
  • Ways to identify the real barriers to belief in order to build a bridge to truth
  • How to keep dialogue going with different personality types

The Reasons for God -Timothy Keller

the-reason-for-god.jpgDURING my nearly two decades in New York City, I've had numerous opportunities to ask people, "What is your biggest problem with Christianity?

In this apologia for Christian faith, Keller mines material from literary classics, philosophy, anthropology and a multitude of other disciplines to make an intellectually compelling case for God. Written for skeptics and the believers who love them, the book draws on the author's encounters as founding pastor of New York's booming Redeemer Presbyterian Church. One of Keller's most provocative arguments is that all doubts, however skeptical and cynical they may seem, are really a set of alternate beliefs. Drawing on sources as diverse as 19th-century author Robert Louis Stevenson and contemporary New Testament theologian N.T. Wright, Keller attempts to deconstruct everyone he finds in his way, from the evolutionary psychologist Richard Dawkins to popular author Dan Brown.

A River Calling - Glenn Frontin

a_river_calling.jpgIf you're a Christian dad or know one, I am sure they need encouragement and inspiration...and sometimes simply help in tackling the job of raising kids, especially boys. Most guys aren't into reading parenting books and usually its their wives that buy them but the guys still won't read them. My hope and prayer is that A River Calling will be a book dads will enjoy reading but get alot out of. It has wilderness adventure, Lewis and Clark history, military training, spiritual warfare, and a pretty good dose of scripture and sound doctrine. A unique blend but that's how it came out!

Verse of The Day

“Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

From religion to Christ

dawid_finger.jpgdo you really have a living faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, or do you merely have religion? Mere religion, even if it is the ‘Christian’ religion, is no substitute for a living experience of God which is only possible through Christ.
