Support Dawid Mocke's quest to raise funds

Dawid MockeJoin Dawid Mocke in his quest to make Hebrews 13:3 a reality as he raises funds for the Prison Broadcasting Network to ensure that we “remember the prisoners as if in prison with them…” and, so doing, impact their lives for eternity.

What Dawid has to say:
“One of the biggest challenges facing South Africa is our nation’s decaying moral standards. I love our country, I believe in its people, but I also believe that it’s the ordinary people like you and me that will ultimately be used by God to bring the much needed change in our country. We can be part of the solution by changing those things which are within our power to change. Help me to strike a blow at the very heart of moral decay in our country; our prisons. Join me in my challenge to raise funds for the Prison Broadcasting Network (PBN). Be a part of the solution so that PBN can bring the transforming power of the word of God to thousands of prisoners every day. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes…Rom 1:16””.

The Prison Broadcasting Network is a Christian organisation which broadcasts via radio and television networks to inmates incarcerated in South African prisons. Starting out in 1999 with just a portable CD player, a car tape deck and 20 CD’s they set out to make a positive impact on the lives of inmates in the Pollsmoor Prison. Almost 9 years later, Prison Broadcasting Network now has a fully-fledged sound studio; broadcasts to some 7,000 inmates as well as globally via the web; and recently launched their television division.

Dawid will be using the Molokai Crossing Surfski race to raise funds to support them in their bid to expand their television broadcasting network in the Pollsmoor Prison initially and ultimately throughout South Africa. The Molokai Crossing will be held on 18th May from Molokai Island to Oahu Island in Hawaii and will cover a total distance of 59km. To read more about the Molokai Crossing visit the website at www.molokai.co.za.

The sponsorship will be based on a Rand value per kilometre completed. So, for example, if you feel led to sponsor Dawid R5 per km, your total sponsorship would amount to R295.00.

If you feel led to sponsor Dawid in his endeavour to raise funds, please contact him at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or contact Canoeists 4 Christ using the contact form.

To ensure that transparency prevails, all sponsors will be requested to deposit their funds directly into Prison Broadcasting Network’s bank account.

Verse of The Day

“Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God- children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.” (John 1:12-13)

From religion to Christ

dawid_finger.jpgdo you really have a living faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, or do you merely have religion? Mere religion, even if it is the ‘Christian’ religion, is no substitute for a living experience of God which is only possible through Christ.

De-icing

deicing.jpgOnce on a day in March, I was due to fly out of JFK Airport in New York at 6:15 p.m. But the flight was delayed for three and a half hours because of ice. That afternoon there had been a light snowfall—only about two inches. When it came down it looked lovely. The houses and trees were covered with a beautiful coat of white; but at the airport, it caused havoc.
